Men’s Soccer Drops Season Opener at Cleveland State

Cleveland State netted all four of its goals in the first 26 minutes of the match to take the season-opening contest over Canisius in collegiate men's soccer action Thursday evening at Krenzler Field.

With the victory, Cleveland State moved to 1-0-0 on the season while the Golden Griffins begin the year 0-1-0.

The Vikings wasted no time as Jannis Schmidt opened the scoring for the host squad in the first minute of the match, putting one past graduate keeper
William Howard.

Cleveland State added to its lead 12 minutes later when Kyle Folds received a feed from Pablo Kewicki, putting the hosts up a pair.

The Vikings added a pair of insurance markers halfway through the first half after Bojan Kolevski and Kewicki scored in the 21st and 26th minutes, respectively.
