Softball Set to Host 2022 MAAC Softball Championship

For the second consecutive season and the 11th time in program history, the Canisius softball team will serve as host for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Softball Championship at the Demske Sports Complex.

The 2022 edition of the tournament, slated for May 11-14, will feature a six-team, double-elimination format. Game times for the first three days of the event are scheduled for 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. The championship series begins Saturday at 11 a.m., and if necessary, a winner-takes-all game two will be held at 1:30 p.m.

The winner of the tournament will earn the conference's berth into the NCAA Divsion I Softball Championship field.

Tickets for the 2022 MAAC Softball Championship can be purchased through HomeTown Ticketing at the gate or by visiting maacsports.com. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets prior to arrival to expedite entry into the facility. Tickets will be sold at the gate, but all purchases must be made on either credit or debit cards.

Fans unable to attend in person will be able to catch all the action online as every game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Canisius earned the right to host by claiming the program's 15th MAAC regular-season title
after finishing the regular season with a 16-4 league ledger. The 16 wins in conference play were the most in school history as the Griffs swept seven of their 10 MAAC series.
