Five Things to Know:

1. At the Draw
Canisius completes its three-game homestand on Wednesday when the Golden Griffins welcome MAAC foe Siena for a 4 p.m. contest at the Demske Sports Complex. Both teams enter the matchup with a 2-1 record in conference play, with the Griffs securing wins over Manhattan and Iona and the Saints taking down Iona and Marist.

2. Familiar Foes
Wednesday marks the 28th meeting between Canisius and Siena, with the Griffs holding a 16-11 record in the all-time series. In their last meeting during the 2021 campaign, Siena defeated Canisius, 21-11, in the MAAC Championship quarterfinals at Hickey Field in Loudonville, N.Y. Katie Smolensky led the Griffs with three goals in the contest, while Skylar McArthur netted two and Riley Davis added one.

3. Last Time Out
Canisius continued its homestand with a matchup against Iona last Saturday. The Griffs trailed early in the contest, but used a seven-goal run to claim a 17-15 victory over the Gaels at the Demske. Paige Stachura scored a career-high six goals in the win and McArthur tallied five goals and added an assist. Davis also had a career-day with a hat trick and two assists, while Megan Hoffman, Smolensky and Caroline Netti each scored once.

4. Starring Stachura
Stachura has paced the Griffs' offense this season, leading Canisius in multiple statistical categories. Her 28 goals in the 2022 campaign leads the Blue & Gold and more than doubles her personal best in a single season. The Orillia, Ontario, native has had a breakout year with 34 points through 10 games, which places her second on the Canisius scoring chart behind Smolensky (37). Stachura enters Wednesday's contest leading the Griffs in shots (58), shots on goal (43), free-position goals (8), ground balls (23), draw controls (31) and game-winning goals (3).

5. Dishing Helpers
In Saturday's game against Iona, the Griffs found their rhythm, registering assists on seven goals for the third time this season. Canisius has recorded 5+ assists in seven contests in 2022, averaging 5.0 assists per game, which is good for fourth in the MAAC. Smolensky leads the Griffs with 18 helpers on the year, while Kaitlyn Salce is second with seven.
