McArthur and Maroney Named MAAC Players of the Week

Canisius seniors Skylar McArthur and Shannon Maroney were named the MAAC's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Monday.

McArthur paced Canisius offensively on Saturday versus Bucknell. The Peterborough, Ontario, native recorded five goals, one assist and three draw controls, all of which were career-highs. McArthur netted two quick goals in the final quarter to help lift the Golden Griffins over the Bison, 14-12.

Maroney secured her first win of the season in goal against the Bison, making seven saves in the victory. The game marked the seventh time in her collegiate career that she has posted seven or more saves in a contest.

Canisius returns to action this Saturday with a road matchup against non-conference opponent Robert Morris at 12 p.m.
