The win, Canisius' fourth straight, improved the Blue and Gold to 9-9 overall and 7-2 in MAAC play. Canisius won the match by set scores of 25-23, 28-30, 25-19, 25-20.

Loussia's 18 kills came on 54 swings, as the Griffs ended the night hitting .180 as a team for the contest. Sophomore Taylor Baldwin recorded eight kills and six digs in the win for Canisius, while junior Alexa Albinson added seven kills and four block assists, with four of those kills coming in the opening set. Senior Elle Shult added six kills, four block assists and four digs to Canisius' cause, while freshman setter Ella Bourque registered 43 assists to go along with nine digs, two service aces, two kills and three block assists.

The match was tied at 1-1 heading into the intermission, and early in the third set, the Red Foxes (11-9, 7-3 MAAC) led 15-7. But from there, the Griffs pushed back with a 15-2 scoring surge to eventually take a 23-17 lead in the frame. During that run, senior libero Bree Long recorded four service aces, and the Griffs eventually won the set 25-20 thanks to back-to-back kills by Loussia.

Canisius controlled the fourth and final set, as Marist ended the final frame hitting just -0.024, with only eight kills and nine attack errors on 42 attack attempts.
