Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Drops Non-Conference Game to Kent State

Kent State used four first-half goals en route to a 6-0 victory over Canisius in collegiate women's soccer action Thursday at Dix Stadium.

The Golden Flashes (3-1-0) opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Karly Hellstrom drilled one past Golden Griffins (0-3-2) goalkeeper
Jordan Spencer.

Kent State pushed their lead to two later in the frame when Callie Cunningham found the back of the net in the 28th minute.


Lauryn Arruda made it a 3-0 match in the 40th minute courtesy of a penalty kick before Dalaney Ranallo closed out the first-half scoring with than two minutes to play in the opening frame to give the Golden Flashes a 4-0 advantage at the break.  


Kent State added a pair of goals in the final ten minutes of the match to secure the victory.

 
Game Notes
• Kent State has now come out victorious in all three meetings between the two teams.
• Kent State out-shot Canisius by a 13-3 margin in the contest, highlighted by an 8-1 margin in the first half. 
• The Golden Flashes took four of the seven corner kicks awarded during Thursday's contest.

Up Next
Canisius will travel to Moon Township, Pa., where they will meet Robert Morris in its final non-conference road game of the fall 2021 season Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m., at the North Athletic Complex.
