Five Things to Know
1. MAAC Championship Quarterfinals
The Golden Griffins hit the road and travel to Albany for the 2020-21 MAAC Championship to face the Bobcats of Quinnipiac in the opening round. Canisius returns to the court following a doubleheader split with Niagara last Sunday to close out the regular-season portion of the 2020-21 schedule.

2. Postseason Series History
Thursday will be the third postseason meeting between the two schools and the second in as many tournaments. In 2014, Canisius scored a 3-1 win in the opening round of the MAAC Championship when the tournament was held at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. In the 2019 semifinals, Quinninpiac defeated the Griffs in five sets to advance to the MAAC's title match against then-host Fairfield.

3. Blue and Gold at the MAAC Championship
Canisius is making its 15th appearance in the MAAC Championship, after earning the second seed this spring. The Golden Griffins are still seeking its first ever conference championship in school history.

4. Third Straight Two Seed
The Golden Griffins hold the second seed entering the MAAC Championship for the third straight season. The 2018 Griffs were the first team in program history to enter the tournament as a two seed, before falling to Iona in the title game. In 2019, Canisius finished behind regular-season champion Fairfield to earn the second seed, but fell to Quinnipiac in the semifinals.

5. Regular-Season Matchup
The two programs met earlier this season in Hamden, Conn., on March 14 as part of the MAAC doubleheader scheduling format for the spring. The Bobcats claimed the first matchup of the day, defeating the Blue and Gold in five sets. In the nightcap, the Griffs took down Quinnipiac in three sets.
