Five Things to Know
1. Weekend Outlook
The Golden Griffins will have a busy weekend featuring two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheaders on Friday and Sunday. The Blue & Gold will hit the road Friday to face Rider before returning to the Koessler Athletic Center Sunday afternoon to host Iona.

2. Series
History
Canisius travels to face Rider Friday afternoon for a pair of MAAC contests. Canisius leads the all-time series against the Broncs, 29-11. The Golden Griffins are looking for their first win at Rider since the 2018 season, when they swept the Broncs in three sets. Sunday, the Griffs welcome Iona to the Koessler Athletic Center. The Blue & Gold trail the all-time series with the Gaels, 27-20.

3. 3-1 Start for the
Griffs
The 3-1 start is the best start through its first four matches for the Griffs since 2011 when they started off with defeats over Providence, La Salle and Morgan State, before falling to Bradley. Canisius would finish the season with an even 15-15 record, including 10-8 in MAAC play.

4. Shult's Block Party

In both matches last weekend, Elle Shult posted back-to-back eight-block performances. The eight blocks was a career-high for the middle hitter. Shult's previous high was seven, when she was a member of Western Illinois.

5. Long's Stellar Start

With her 20-dig showing in the first match against Quinnipiac, Bree Long now has 20-plus digs in 14 career matches. Long has also hit the 10-plus dig mark in 31 of her 35 appearances during her college career. Long totalled 558 digs during her rookie season on Main Street in 2019 which were the most by a freshman in Canisius history.
