The Griffs heated up in the second half, making seven of its 17 shots – four of which came from beyond the arc.

Despite shooting 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, Binghamton was stifled in the first two quarters by Canisius' defense, who forced 11 turnovers. Graduate student Ella Väätänen recorded a pair of steals in the opening half for the Griffs.

Head Coach Sahar Nusseibeh's Postgame Comments

"I thought we showed 30 minutes of really focused play where defensively we were locked in. Offensively, we took steps forward being the aggressor for the first three quarters as well. Unfortunately, Binghamton's run at the start of the fourth was too much to overcome considering our lack of depth available today."

"Dani [Haskell] was tremendous in taking the reins of our offense today. We are extremely proud of her growth in just two games. Her response after a few mistakes early in the game shows firsthand her coachability and maturity as just a sophomore. It is extremely impressive and something we will continue to challenge her with because she is capable."
