1) Opening Serve
The Canisius volleyball team travels to the state of New Jersey this weekend to close out the 2021 regular season with road matches at Rider (Saturday) and Saint Peter's (Sunday). The Golden Griffins are coming off a 3-1 road loss to Niagara on Tuesday, a loss that ended the team's four-game win streak.

2) Series Notes
Canisius will be meeting Rider for the 45th time in series history on Saturday, and the Griffs lead the all-time series 30-14. The Broncs have held the edge in recent matchups, having won three of the last four meetings and 10-of-15 contests since the start of the 2014 campaign.

Canisius' 3-1 win over Saint Peter's on Oct. 16, in Buffalo extended the Blue and Gold's dominant stretch in the series between two of the MAAC's Jesuit schools, with the Griffs claiming wins in 19 of the last 20 matches between the two schools. All-time, Canisius holds a 36-14 edge in the series against the Peacocks.

3) Another Winning MAAC Season
Canisius' 3-1 win over Niagara on Nov. 4 at home allowed Canisius to secure a winning record in MAAC play for the fourth-straight season. Since the start of the 2018 campaign, the Griffs boast a MAAC regular-season record of 43-19 with two matches left to play this year. This four-year stretch stands as the program's most successful four-year run in conference play since the school joined the conference prior to the start of the 1989-90 academic year.

4) MAAC Seeding on the Line
Canisius travels to Rider and Saint Peter's with a chance to secure a top-three seed in next week's MAAC Volleyball Championship. With two wins, and some help, the Griffs can earn the second-seed in the conference tournament thanks to its 3-2 comeback win over Fairfield on Oct. 24. Fairfield secured the top-seed in next week's tournament with a pair of 3-0 wins over Siena and Marist at home last weekend.

5) Up Next
Canisius will travel to Loudonville, N.Y., to take part in the 2021 MAAC Volleyball Championship, which is set to run Nov. 19-21, at Siena College's UHY Center. The Griffs' next opponent and game time will be announced on Monday, Nov. 15.
