Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Defeated by Quinnipiac

Quinnipiac netted three goals in an eight minute span to defeat Canisius, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium in Hamden, Conn.

With the win, the Bobcats improved to 5-1-0 (10-2-0 overall) in conference play, while the Golden Griffins slid to 0-7-0 (0-12-2 overall) in league action.


Selena Salas gave Quinnipiac the 1-0 in the 26th minute after the Bobcats were awarded a penalty kick.


The host Bobcats tallied their second goal of the contest in the 29th minute when Ella Gagno scored.


Markela Bejleri added an insurance marker in the 34th minute to seal the victory for Quinnipiac.

Freshman goalkeeper
Jordan Spencer made eight saves in the loss, making her second consecutive start in goal for the Griffs.
 
Game Notes
• Spencer made her seventh appearance of the season and sixth start in Blue and Gold.
• Junior Abby Molloy appeared in the full time for the sixth match this season. 
 
Up Next
Canisius returns home for a Saturday afternoon match against Monmouth, where the team will celebrate Senior Day. Kickoff between the Griffs and Hawks is slated for 1 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex.
