Canisius hockey head coach Trevor Large revealed the 2019-20 regular-season schedule on Wednesday, a 34-game slate that features an even split of 17 home and 17 road contests.

Highlights include non-conference series against North Dakota, RPI and Union, a home exhibition contest featuring the U.S. National U-18 Team (USNTDP), a home series versus Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara and a pair of home-and-home series against RIT.

Canisius begins its third season under Large with a non-conference series at perennial power North Dakota (Oct. 11-12).

A visit to the Capital District for the front half of a home-and-home series versus former head coach Dave Smith and RPI (Oct. 19) awaits Canisius after their season-opening series with the Fighting Hawks. The Griffs close out the opening month of the regular season with an exhibition contest against the USNTDP U-18 Team at KeyBank Rink at Harborcenter (Oct. 27).

Canisius is slated to play eight of its nine games during the month of November at home, starting with a series versus ECAC Hockey opponent Union (Nov. 1-2).

Atlantic Hockey Association play gets underway the following weekend with a home-and-home series versus Robert Morris (Nov. 8-9). Canisius will host the opener before the two teams travel south for the series finale.

The Griffs square off against Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara (Nov. 15-16) and complete their non-conference slate with a home date versus with RPI (Nov. 23) before finishing out the month Thanksgiving weekend against Army (Nov. 29-30).

The Blue and Gold hit the road to face defending AHA regular-season and tournament champion AIC (Dec. 6-7) for the start of their December slate that also includes a post-Christmas visit from Holy Cross (Dec. 28-29).

Canisius rings in the New Year with the first of two home-and-home series against RIT (Jan. 3-4). The Griffs and Tigers open 2020 in Rochester before making their way to Buffalo the following night for the finale.

Trips to Bentley (Jan. 10-11) and Sacred Heart (Jan. 17-18) mark the start of a stretch that has Canisius away from home for seven of eight contests. The front end of a second home-and-home series versus RIT (Jan. 24-25) serves as the lone home date in the eight-game run that finishes the following weekend with a league series at Army (Jan. 31-Feb. 1).

A five-game homestand that completes the home half of the schedule begins with visits from Air Force (Feb. 7-8) and AIC (Feb. 14-15) before wrapping up with the front half of a home-and-home series versus Robert Morris (Feb. 21-22)
