Buck, Goss Named to College Crosse All-Freshman Squad

Canisius freshman Jacob Buck and CJ Goss were both recognized on Monday as they were named to the College Crosse All-Freshman Team for the 2019 season.
 
The duo become the first Golden Griffin rookies to be recognized on the year-end list honoring the top newcomers in collegiate lacrosse since its inception in 2017.
 
The 2019 MAAC Rookie of the Year, Buck led Canisius in scoring with 44 points as he finished second on the team in both goals (30) and assists (14). The MAAC All-Rookie Team selection tallied multiple points on 13 occasions, including nine performances in which he recorded three points or more. The Churchville-Chili, N.Y., product was a four-time MAAC Rookie of the Week honoree during the 2019 regular season, the most among the league freshman class.  
 
Goss, meanwhile appeared in all 16 games for Canisius, recording 21 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. He recorded an assist in the Griffs' 12-8 victory at Robert Morris and finished with season-high four ground balls at Furman (Feb. 19). The Buffalo, N.Y., product also turned in season-best three caused turnovers in 11-8 victory at Detroit Mercy.
 
Canisius finished the 2019 season with an 8-8 overall record as it qualified to the MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship for the fourth consecutive season. The Griffs posted a 4-3 record in conference play, its fourth straight season with a winning percentage against league competition of .500 or better.
