1. Same, But Different
• For the 12th-straight year, Canisius has earned a spot in the MAAC Championship. However, it is the first time in program history the Golden Griffins have ever been the sixth seed in the conference tournament. Saturday also marks the third time Canisius and Siena have met in the postseason, with Canisius winning the first two matchups by a combined score of 25-16.

2. Newton Has Career Day in Cage
• Senior goalie Ellen Newton stopped a career-high 15 shots against Binghamton, surpassing her previous career-high of seven that she set against nationally-ranked Notre Dame earlier this season. The Victor, N.Y., native also earned her first career win in goal on Wednesday in what was her fourth career start.

3. Strong Finish
• Canisius finished with a 3-2 record in its final five games of the regular season, picking up wins against Iona, Niagara and Binghamton. Senior Jourdan Roemer and sophomore Marissa Malvaso paced the attack over the stretch, combining for 30 points on 20 goals and ten assists. Netminder Lauren Gilbert played 180 minutes in the cage during the final five games, tallying 37 saves, while allowing 13.00 goals per game and recording a .487 save percentage.

4. First Time Around
•  Siena narrowly defeated the Blue and Gold on March 27. The Griffs and Saints went back and forth the entire game, finishing regulation tied 16-16. Siena's Haley Kmack scored the game-winning goal 3:41 into the extra frame. Roemer collected a game-high eight points with five goals and three assists, while Marissa Malvaso scored four goals in the loss.

5. 12-Straight
• With a win, Canisius will advance to the MAAC semifinals for the 12th-straight season. Over the past 12 years, Canisius has gone to nine MAAC Championships, winning six titles to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
