Softball Drops A Pair on Day Two of Hawaii Invite

GAME RECAP
Monoa, Hawaii -  The Canisius softball team was defeated by DePaul and New Mexico, 10-3 and 10-0 respectively, on the second day of the Hawaii Invite in Monoa, Hawaii. The Blue and Gold fall to 0-3 on the season as DePaul and New Mexico improve to 10-1 and 4-7. 

GAME TWO
The Golden Griffins offense exploded out of the gates  with an RBI single from senior Denver Keller followed by an RBI double from senior Lauren Castro in the first inning. DePaul came back to score in the home half of the first, as well as the third, fourth and sixth innings to earn the 10-3 victory over the Griffs. Canisius had just five hits in the defeat with sophomore Kara Paradowskisenior Molly McGuire and Keller each recording a base knock. 
 
Castro earned the loss for Griffs as she went 2.2 innings surrendering eight runs on seven hits. Freshman Alexis Churchill took over in the third inning and allowed one run on one hit, before fellow freshman Haley Tamaro closed out the game allowing two runs on two hits. 

GAME THREE
Canisius trailed New Mexico 3-0 going into the third inning, but a trio of RBI singles in the top-half of the frame sparked a rally that concluded with 10 runs on eleven hits, giving New Mexico the 10-0 victory.
 
Sophomore pitcher Emily Nicosia took the loss for Canisius after she allowed eight runs on seven hits to go along with one strikeout and four walks in two innings of work. Churchill then entered the circle again for the Griffs in the third inning and was able to record a strikeout, while allowing two runs on four hits. 

Inside the Box Score
• The Griffs recorded nine hits in the two games on Friday.
• Paradowski recorded a multi-hit game with two hits against DePaul.
