Fair poured in 24 points, while Onwuka scored a game-high 30 for the Bulls. Adebola Adeyeye and Marissa Hamilton grabbed seven rebounds apiece and Hanna Hall was credited with six assists to help Buffalo secure the win. As a team, the Bulls shot 38.8 percent from the field (26-for-67) and 33.3 percent from 3-point range (10-for-30), while hitting on nine of their 12 attempts from the line. Buffalo outrebounded Canisius, 47-34.

D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks' tallied 17 points, going 6-for-22 from the floor and 4-for-11 from the perimeter. The senior also added three rebounds and three assists in the loss. Graduate transfer AJ Timbers added 11 points and four rebounds, followed by senior Tiana Pugh who scored 10 points while grabbing a team-best seven boards.

Junior Danielle Sanderlin put together an eight-point, six rebounds and four assist night for the Griffs. As a group, Canisius shot 36.8 percent on its field goal attempts (21-for-57), including a 33.3 percent clip on its 3-pointers (7-for-21). The Griffs bench outscored the Bulls reserves, 18-9.

The first quarter was all Buffalo, as the Bulls used a 13-0 run to take a 21-10 lead after ten minutes of action. Fair scored eight of the Bulls 21 in the frame, going 3-for-9 from the field, including 2-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Canisius' offense got things going in the second quarter as Patterson-Ricks scored 11 of her 14 first-half points in the second. The Griffs opened the quarter with a 9-2 run to cut the Bulls lead to six points, 25-19. After an Adeyeye layup and a pair of free-throws from Fair to put Buffalo up seven, Patterson-Ricks sunk a 3-pointer to pull Canisius within four, 26-22. Buffalo would not let the Griffs get any closer as it built its lead up to nine, 39-30, heading into the break.

Buffalo stayed hot in the third quarter, outscoring Canisius 20-11 over nine minutes of game action to double its halftime lead, 59-41. In the frame, the Bulls would shoot 46.7 percent from the field to help keep Canisius at bay.

The fourth and final frame was more of the same as Canisius could only trim the Bulls lead to as little as 15 points, 66-51, which came at the 4:02 mark. Buffalo would put it away scoring five of the game's final nine points, to ensure the 71-55 victory.

Head coach Scott Hemer's Post Game Comments
"I think it is a good opportunity for our players to use this (game) as a measuring stick for where they are and where they want to be."

"Almost half our roster is new this year. The transition of adding seven new players is not going as quickly as we like, but we also understood coming into the season we had to be patient with this group and there was progress made tonight. We played a lot harder than we did down in Youngstown a week ago and that is a step in the right direction."
