1. Alumni Reunion
• Canisius assistant coaches' Linda Hill-MacDonald and Rachelle Matthys will step foot in Alumni Arena together for the first time since 2009. Hill-MacDonald served as Buffalo's head coach from 2005-12, while Matthys played for the Bulls from 2005-09. Together, the two helped the Blue and White win 43 games in those four seasons, including a 15-win campaign in 2007-08.

2. Rebound from Youngstown
• The Golden Griffins opened the 2019-20 season at Youngstown State last Tuesday, falling to the Penguins by a final score of 87-59. The Blue and Gold shot 33.3 percent from the perimeter, but just 29.2 percent from the field. Canisius went 16-for-18 from the charity stripe, led by senior Tiana Pugh who was a perfect 6-for-6 from the line.

3. It's been a while
• Canisius has not beaten crosstown rival Buffalo since the 2012-13 season, giving the Bulls a six-game winning streak in the series. The last time the Griffs won in Alumni Arena was Dec. 5, 2009, a 59-56 victory.

4. Pugh Scores Double-Figures
• Pugh scored a team-high 14 points against Youngstown State, going 6-for-6 from the line and 4-for-10 from the field. It was just the 12th time that the Rome, N.Y., native reached double digits in scoring.

5. Newcomers Contribute
• Canisius had six of its seven newcomers dress for the season opener in Youngstown, all of which saw the floor. Graduate transfer AJ Timbers saw the most game time, as she recorded 21 minutes off the bench, where she finished with six points, four rebounds and two steals.
