BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Canisius offense exploded for 11 runs on 16 hits as the Golden Griffins roughed up St. Bonaventure 11-0 Friday night at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, N.Y. The win ends a two-game slide of the Griffs, making them 25-18 on the season, as the Bonnies continue their three-game losing streak, falling to 9-25 overall.

The Blue and Gold came out swinging, posting four runs on six hits in the bottom of the first inning highlighted by RBI singles by senior Liam Wilson and junior Conner Morro and capped off by a two-run single by Gage Lanning putting the Griffs up 4-0.

A base hit by redshirt senior Christ Conley in the second scoring senior Ryan Stekl extended the lead to 5-0.

The fourth inning saw two Canisius home runs as freshman Jacob Martins launched a solo shot to dead center and few batters later Stekl hit a three-run round tripper to right center, pushing the advantage to 9-2.

Morro roped a two-run triple into the right center field gap in the sixth frame to plate Conley and Lanning, closing out the scoring, and the victory, 11-0.

Senior southpaw J.P. Stevenson picked up his eighth win of the season as he was locked-in for six innings, only allowing two base runners via a double and a single, while striking out nine batters. Sophomore left-hander Kyle Warner relieved Stevenson as he fanned four Bonnies in two innings of work. Freshman Omar Ward saw action in the ninth as he surrendered a single, forced a double play line-out, and got a strike out to end the ballgame.

St. Bonaventure sent senior Brandon Schlimm to the mound as he battled through six full innings, scattering 15 hits and allowing 11 runs as he walked four and struck out five. Right-hander Brian Pulli and freshman Brandon Nelson pitched the eighth and ninth innings, respectively, garnering three strikeouts and one hit between them.
