 1. UB Connection
• Cansius' assistant coaches Linda Hill-MacDonald and Rachelle Matthys have connections to the University at Buffalo. Hill-MacDonald was the head coach of the Bulls from 2005-12, where she amassed a 75-127 record. Matthys played under Hill-MacDonald from 2005-2009, where as a senior she led the Bulls with a 36.9 percent clip from downtown on 59-of-160 shooting.

2. Shift of Power
• The Golden Griffins hold the all-time lead in the series, 30-15, including a stretch of 15 straight wins over the Bulls from 1978 to 1991. More recently, the Griffs have dropped the previous five contests against Buffalo and are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings.

3. Sanderlin is Missed
• Canisius has played the last five games without sophomore forward Danielle Sanderlin. The Williamstown, N.J., native grabbed 14.5 rebounds per game in her only two contests this season, including a career-high 18 rebounds against Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure. The sophomore also collected a double-double in the season opener against Miami (Ohio) with 12 points and 11 boards.

4. Month Away
• The Blue and Gold are just under a month away from starting conference play with a matchup against Manhattan on Jan. 3, which is Canisius annual Kids Day. The Griffs have dropped six of their first seven games of non-conference play with just four games remaining before the new year.

5. Welcoming the Nation's Leader
• The Griffs welcome the nation's leading scorer, Buffalo senior Cierra Dillard. Dillard is averaging 26.7 points per game through six contests, with a season-high 33 points in the Bulls 73-64 win over Georgetown. The Rochester, N.Y., product has been named MAC East Player of the Week twice this season.
