Men’s Soccer Falls at Quinnipiac

Quinnipiac scored twice in the 4:16 span midway through the first half to take control of the contest and cruise to a 3-0 victory over visiting Canisius in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's soccer action Saturday at the QU Soccer Stadium.

Matthew Taylor, William Pustari and Rashawn Dally all scored for the Bobcats (3-7-1, 2-2-0 MAAC), who held a 17-4 shot advantage for the contest.

Chrysostomos Iakovidis recorded one save between the posts for Quinnipiac to record his third shutout of the season.

Senior Marco Trivellato made four saves in goal for the Golden Griffins (8-3-1, 2-1-1 MAAC)

Taylor staked Quinnipiac to a 1-0 lead at the 14:06 mark of the contest, putting home a rebound on a shot by Max Rothenbuecher to give the Bobcats the early advantage.

Pustari doubled the QU cushion to 2-0 a little more than four minutes later when he put home a loose ball for his first goal of the season.

Dally closed out the scoring in the 88th minute, beating Trivellato with a shot to the far post to determine the final margin.

Head Coach Dermot McGrane Postgame Comments
"We didn't show up with the right frame of mind today and were punished for it.
You don't get to take days off during the conference season if you want to make the playoffs and become a champion.

"We have a whole week of practice next week as it's our bye week. So, we need to get our mind right and prepared for the next game."
