Women's Soccer Upended by Manhattan, 5-0

GAME RECAP
Manhattan senior Erica Modena scored a hat trick in the game's first 26 minutes, and the host Jaspers added two more goals en route to a 5-0 win over Canisius Wednesday afternoon in Riverdale, N.Y. The victory moves Manhattan to 7-6-1 overall and 5-2-0 in MAAC action, while the Golden Griffins fell to 7-7-1 overall and 2-5-1 in league play.
 
Modena would score the game's first goal in the 13th minute, and then tallied two penalty-kick markers in the 20th and 26th minute of the contest. Manhattan led 4-0 at halftime and added a fifth goal in the 60th minute en route to the victory.

Coach Clark's Postgame Comments
"We are close enough to the end of the season that it is time that we figure out that the little things matter. It is my, and the other coaches, job to convince these players that we are able to play well and to put them in the right position to succeed."

Game Notes
• This was the 26th all-time meeting between the two schools, with Canisius holding the 14-10-2 all-time series lead.
• Canisius and Manhattan have alternated wins going back to the 2012 season.
