The Canisius women's soccer team tied St. Bonaventure 1-1 in double overtime Tuesday night, moving the Griffs to 1-1-1 on the season.
Brittany Krause scored the lone goal for the Golden Griffins in the opening minutes of the second half. The play began on a throw-in from Callie Good that was misplayed by the Bonnies goaltender Beth Moore.
The Bonnies recovered however, tying the game in the 82nd minute on a goal by Lauren Hill.
In overtime, a throw-in from Good entered the net for a potential winner, but was called back when it was ruled untouched before crossing the goal line.
Kailee DeFranks played well in net for the Griffs, as she allowed only one score on nine shots on goal.
The Golden Griffins next game will be held in Vestal, N.Y. Friday night, when they face Binghamton at 6 p.m.
Game Notes:
Krause scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the match. Canisius also recorded eight corner kicks in the home opener, besting St. Bonaventure's seven.
