EDISON, N.J. – Seniors Lauren Siebert and Rachel Kline were named to the 2015 volleyball Preseason All-MAAC team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning. The Canisius College Golden Griffins were also selected to finish sixth among the league's 10 institutions, as voted by the squad's head coaches.

Siebert ended the 2014 season as the MAAC leader in hitting percentage, boasting a .316 mark after recording 258 kills on 569 attempts. The Orefield, Pa., native was third on the team in kills per set last year, with a 2.11 average. Siebert was also honored by the MAAC at the end of last season as she was named to the 2014 All-Academic team.

Kline was a team leader for the Blue and Gold in 2014, sporting 3.13 kills per set mark, and a 3.05 digs per set average for the Griffs. The Monaca Pa., native had a career season notching career-bests in kills (398), kills per set (3.13), digs (372), and digs per set (3.05), and was named to the 2014 All-MAAC Second Team and 2014 MAAC All-Academic Team.

Last season's champion, Siena, was voted to be the favorite to win the 2015 title, receiving 91 points, with Fairifeld and Manhattan coming in with a tie for second with 78 points each. Marist was selected fourth with 71 points, while Rider finished ahead of Canisius with 54. Coming in behind the Golden Griffins were Niagara (45), Iona (32), Quinnipiac (28) and Saint Peter's (12).

Marist boasted Co-Preseason Players of the year with Amanda Schlegal and Courtney Shaw both receiving the honor.

Last campaign Canisius finished the season with a 12-20 overall record and went 8-10 in MAAC play. The Griffs defeated Quinnipiac in the first round of the MAAC tournament but was ousted by Siena, which went on to be crowned 2014 MAAC Champions.
