Junior forward Ralph Cuddemi of the Canisius College hockey team is among the players nominated for the Hobey Baker Award, handed out to the nation's top player.
Fans can vote for the player they believe deserves the award by visiting hobeybaker.com and clicking the Vote for Hobey icon (click here). The first phase ends March 8 and the list will be narrowed down to 10 semifinalists with the second phase beginning on March 19.
Cuddemi leads the Griffs with 10 goals and four power-play tallies during his junior campaign, while adding eight assists for 18 points. He currently ranks 16th nationally with his 10 goals and he is the third-quickest Griff to reach the double-digit mark in the last 14 years.
The junior is also the only player in the country with two hat tricks this season – netting three goals in a comeback win against Army (Oct. 17) and in a draw versus AIC (Dec. 6). In 97 career games, Cuddemi has totaled 60 points, 29 goals and 31 assists.
Cuddemi and the Griffs return to the ice on Friday, hosting Holy Cross at HARBORCENTER in a special Kid's Day contest that begins at 11:05 a.m.
