The Canisius women's soccer team lost the game against Binghamton University (4-4-0) on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 2-0.
The Griffs were led offensively by junior Tara McPherson and senior Brittany Bowen, as both players had a shot on goal. Senior Brigid St. Leger got the start for the Blue and Gold, making six saves in the loss.
The Bearcats got on the board in the 58th minute as Connie Gormley scored off of a corner-kick feed from Emily Nuss. The second goal came in the 81st minute on a loose ball knocked in by Stephani Church.
After the loss the Golden Griffins are now 1-7-0. Canisius will look to bounce back against MAAC rival Saint Peter's on Thursday as the team travels to Jersey City, N.J., to take on the Peacocks at 3:00 p.m.
Notes: With her six saves in the game, St. Leger now has 34 on the season, increasing her goals against average to 1.29 and a .810 save percentage… This was the sixth all-time meeting between Canisius and Binghamton, with the Bearcats leading the series 5-1-0.
