Campus Chronicles with Alexis Roskovich

Spring break was filled with team dinners, game nights, Netflix, tossing around the pig skin and attempts to soak up the little sun Buffalo gave us this past week. But like all good things it came to an end Sunday evening and we are back to our old habits of spending all day in classes and late nights in the library.

Between Instagram and Twitter we all knew how the other half spends their spring break and it's nothing like ours. To our disappointment, we realized Panama City and Cancun really are warmer than our own Demske Beach and Loring Boardwalk, (Demske is the name of our turf field and Loring Ave is a road on campus our upperclassmen live on). Even though we couldn't make it to the tropical destinations we did get to experience some of Buffalo's finest including dinner at a team favorite, Brodo. We were even lucky enough to be invited to coach's house for desert! After seeing his spacious backyard, the team has decided he is putting in a pool, solely for the team welcome back and end of the year celebrations!

Over break, Kayla Scully's geckos Raptar and Ducky were discovered by the team. Little did our team know, Scully has been the proud owner of Rapter and Ducky for almost her entire college career.  Now that the secret is out it is rumored people have been spotted taking the two lovable geckos on leisurely walks throughout campus and fights have broken out over their well-being. In other reptile news Sami Franco is convinced she is adopting a snake for the sophomore house next year and she will name him Two Chains.

A great team win against Robert Morris on Monday puts us in a great position to kick off conference play at Iona this weekend. We finally were able to string together a full game both offensively and defensively. And our very own Maria Kotas was able to net her 100th career goal at Canisius. We cannot wait to get into conference play not only to defend our tile, but make it a 4-peat and win another MAAC Championship!

Just Keep Re'Laxing,

Alexis Roskovich
