Senior libero Emily Litwin (Williamsville, N.Y.) has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Libero of the Week. Litwin wins the award for the first time in 2014 and for the fourth time in her career.
In two matches last week, Litwin averaged 8.00 digs per set. The senior libero had 32 digs in the four-set match at Rider and followed that up with 24 digs in the sweep at Saint Peter's. Litwin also posted a 97.3 service reception percentage in the two matches, including a 34-for-34 effort against the Peacocks. Litwin also moved into fifth place on the career digs list with 1,188 career digs in three years.
Litwin leads the MAAC and ranks 23rd nationally with a 5.16 digs per set average. The senior libero has 20 or more digs in 10 matches during the 2014 season.
Canisius (7-16, 7-7 MAAC) hosts Siena College on Saturday, with match time in the KAC set for 1 p.m.
