Epic Point Named No. 6 Play on SportsCenter

The nearly two-minute rally at the start of the third set between the Canisius volleyball team and Iona College on Sunday, Oct. 26, was named the No. 6 play in the Top 10 Plays segment on ESPN's SportsCenter.

The point, which featured 24 attack attempts and 20 digs, ended on a block from junior Lauren Siebert. The six Canisius players touched the ball a combined 44 times while the Iona team touched the ball 48 times during the point.

The point gives the Canisius athletic department its ninth appearance on the segment in the last seven years. The Golden Griffins most recently appeared on the Top Plays segment after a buzzer-beater from Canisius men's basketball player Billy Baron against Rider University on Jan. 10.

Current Canisius women's basketball player Tiahana Mills earned the No. 1 spot on Jan. 5, 2013, when she drained a half-court buzzer-beater to defeat Siena College. Former Canisius men's basketblal player Elton Frazier made the Top 10 four times while former men's lacrosse player Jim Haney also made the Top 10. Current men's soccer assistant coach Andrew Incho made the Top 10 as well.
