Freshman defender Chris Rumble of the Canisius College hockey team made a splash right from the start, earning Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week honors after helping the Griffs to a weekend sweep at Sacred Heart.

Appearing in just his second and third collegiate games, Rumble totaled three points, one goal and two assists in a pair of wins against the Pioneers. The defender netted his first career goal - a power-play tally - in Friday's 5-1 victory to go along with an assist, while adding another helper in a 6-3 win on Saturday.

Rumble and the Griffs look to continue their winning ways this weekend, playing at Bentley. The two-game series is set to begin on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
