College women's basketball coach Terry
Zeh has announced the signing of Brooke
Angelos to a National Letter of Intent. Angelos will
join the Golden Griffins for the 2011-12 season.
Angelos,
a 5-foot-7 point guard, played for four years with Villa Maria Academy. As a
senior, Angelos and Villa Maria Academy went 22-7 and captured the District 1
Class AAA title, advancing to the second round of the PIAA Class AAA playoffs.
She averaged 12.7 points per game as a senior and won two district
championships in her career.
"Brooke
is a tremendous all-around player who really understands the game," Zeh said. "Her
ability to see the floor and defend on the perimeter will really help us at the
guard position."
The
signing of Angelos brings the incoming class for women's basketball to four
players, joining Ashley Gomez, Kayla Hoohuli and Ashley Wilkes.
