Sophomore goalkeeper Ryan
Arvin earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades
after leading the Canisius College men's soccer team to a 1-0-1 start in conference play.
In games against Siena and Marist, Arvin posted a goals
against average of 0.45 and a save percentage of .917 to help Canisius to its
best start to MAAC play since the 2007 campaign. The sophomore earned his first
collegiate win in Friday's contest against Siena, recording five saves in a 2-1
overtime victory. Arvin then followed by matching a career high with six stops
in a 0-0 draw versus Marist, his first collegiate shutout.
Through five games during his sophomore campaign, Arvin owns
a 1-2-1 record, 0.84 goals against average and .846 save percentage. He
currently ranks second in the MAAC in both goals against average and save
percentage.
Arvin and the Griffs return to the field on Friday,
continuing conference action at Fairfield. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
