The Canisius College women's lacrosse team was recognized on Friday night for their 2011 MAAC Championship season, receiving the team's championship rings.
The members of the championship-winning team reunited during Friday's men's soccer game as the coaching staff and players received their championship rings. The Griffs received a warm welcome in front of the Demske Sports Complex crowed, which included a number of past women's lacrosse players, who are celebrating Alumni Weekend.
During the 2011 campaign, the Griffs won a school-record 14 games and earned a 13-8 victory over Fairfield in the MAAC Championship game to claim the program's first conference title.
