Canisius College women's basketball freshman Jen Lennox was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Lennox averaged 10.5 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 53.3 percent from the floor in two games last week. The 6-foot-4 forward scored a career high with 12 points against Binghamton, while also recording two blocks. Lennox then had nine points and a career-high nine rebounds in the win at Colgate.

Lennox, who has started all three games, is averaging 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor on the season. Lennox also has four blocks and three steals.

Canisius starts a three-game homestand on Saturday, when the Golden Griffins host Towson. Tipoff in the Koessler Athletic Center was set for 2 p.m.
