Senior defender Carl Hudson and junior forward Cory Conacher are among the players nominated for the Hobey Baker Award, handed out to the nation's top player.
Fans can vote for the player they believe deserves the award by visiting hobeybaker.com and clicking the Vote for Hobey icon. The first phase of voting ends March 7 and the list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on March 18.
Hudson ranks among the best blueliners in the country this season. The Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario native has recorded 20 points on six goals and 14 assists this season. He currently leads all Atlantic Hockey defenders with his 20 points, while ranking sixth nationally among blueliners with 0.95 points per game.
The senior defender currently owns or shares five school records. During his career, Hudson has amassed 76 points, 36 goals and 40 assists, all program standards among defenders. He also holds school marks with 23 power-play tallies and shares the record with nine game-winning scores.
Conacher is enjoying one of the finest seasons in the country this year. Through just 20 games, Conacher has accumulated 31 points, 15 goals and 16 assists. The Burlington, Ontario native currently ranks second nationally with 1.55 points per game, third with 0.75 goals per game, 16th with 0.80 assists per game, 17th with five power-play goals and first with four game-winning scores.
In 77 career games, Conacher has totaled 83 points, 34 goals, 49 assists, 11 power-play goals and seven game-winning tallies.
The Hobey Baker Memorial Award is presented annually to a collegiate hockey player who exhibits strength of character on and off the ice, contributes to the integrity of his team, displays outstanding skills in all phases of the game plus possesses scholastic achievement and sportsmanship.
Hudson, Conacher and the Griffs return to the ice on Friday and Saturday, hosting Army in a pair of Atlantic Hockey games. Both contests are slated to begin at 7:05 p.m. at the Buffalo State Sports Arena.
