After recording the ninth hat trick in the program's
Division I history, junior Cory Conacher
was honored as the Atlantic Hockey Player of the
Week.
With the Griffs facing a 3-0 deficit against Lake Superior
State, Conacher led a Canisius rally by tallying the next three goals to knot
the game. The natural hat trick was the second in school history, joining Chris
Duggan who scored three-straight goals against Sacred Heart on Feb. 19, 1999.
Conacher currently leads all Atlantic Hockey players with
his three goals this season. Through 59 career games, the Burlington, Ontario
native has totaled 55 points, 22 goals and 33 assists.
Conacher and the Griffs return to the ice on Saturday,
hosting Holy Cross in the Atlantic Hockey opener. Game time at the Buffalo
State Sports Arena is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
