Dineley Named to ESPN The Magazine All-District First Team

Canisius College men's lacrosse Angus Dineley (Toronto, Ont.) has been named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team in District I.

Dineley, who has a 3.95 grade point average and recently graduated with a degree in English, was one of 10 male student-athletes selected in District I to the First Team. Nationally, 83 male student-athletes were honored in the university division as first-team members.
Dineley finished his senior season with a 10.02 goals against average and .498 save percentage as the Golden Griffins earned their fourth postseason berth in five seasons. He earned two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors as a senior and another one as a junior.

For his career, Dineley finished second in program history with a 9.63 goals against average. As a sophomore, Dineley was ninth in the country with a .595 save percentage. Academically, Dineley was a three-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team.
In order to be nominated for this honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or significant reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and at least a 3.20 grade point average in both undergraduate and graduate work. The student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution and completed at least one full academic year at the same school.
