Jared Zeidman is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Canisius women’s basketball program.
During the 2022-23 season, Zeidman helped Canisius improve its overall and conference win totals by three from the season before. He also helped junior Dani Haskell earned All-MAAC Third Team honors while freshman Sisi Eleko earned six MAAC weekly awards and was tabbed to the All-MAAC Rookie Team.
In his first season with the program, Zeidman helped guide Canisius to a MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship opening round win, becoming the first No. 11 seed to win a game in the tournament’s history. Under his mentorship, sophomore Dani Haskell garnered All-MAAC Third Team accolades while freshman Athina Lexa was one of two unanimous selections to the All-MAAC Rookie Team.
Zeidman joined the Blue and Gold after spending nine seasons as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Union College (N.Y.) women’s basketball program.
In his role with the Dutchwomen, Zeidman served as the acting head coach during games and coordinated all recruiting efforts for the program. During his time in Schenectady, Zeidman aided the development of 10 All-Liberty League selections, three unanimous Liberty League All-Rookie Team honorees, and the 2015-2016 Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year, Erin Lyons.
Prior to his time with Union, Zeidman began his coaching career as a graduate intern with the University at Buffalo men’s basketball program from 2009-2011, working under current Canisius men’s basketball coach Reggie Witherspoon.
A native of Schenectady, N.Y., Zeidman earned his undergraduate degree in media studies from Quinnipiac in 2008 and then went on to earn his master’s degree in student affairs administration from Buffalo in 2011.
