Rachel Jones begins her second season on the Canisius staff. She will assist all aspects of the program and specialize in the instruction of the offense and monitoring the academic progress of the student-athletes.
Jones just finished a four-year career at Niagara University, where she ranks eighth in career points (104) and third in goals (87). She started every game of her career, was a first-team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selection in 2004 and served as a team captain in 2005.
A Tonawanda, N.Y., native, Jones was a two-time first-team All-Western New York selection at Sweet Home High School, where she still owns the school record for single-season goals with 54. She competed in six Empire State Games and played in the 1997 Junior National Lacrosse Tournament.
Jones earned her bachelor's degree in tourism and recreation from Niagara in 2005 and is pursuing a master's degree in sport administration at Canisius. She coached at the All-American Lacrosse Camp at Colgate from 2001-05.
