Ryan Eaton

Ryan Eaton MS, RD, CDN serves as the sports dietitian at Canisius University, assisting Golden Griffin student-athletes with broad and specific nutrition education to help them maximize their performance, both on and off the field.

In addition to his work at Canisius, Eaton works as a consulting dietitian with Live Well Dietetics and Nutrition. He assists both individuals and groups with obesity/weight management, sports nutrition and metabolic issues, working both in-person and online with his clients.

Prior to his time at Canisius, Eaton spent more than four years as a registered dietitian for Georgetown Fitness. He also served as a sport nutritionist/clinical instructor at D’Youville University, working in conjunction with the Saints strength and conditioning coach to help ensure their student-athletes were getting the proper and adequate nutrition to reach their personal and team goals. While with D’Youville, Eaton also taught as a clinical instructor for dietetic graduate students at the University who were interested in pursuing a career in the athletic realm.

A member of the United States Navy, Eaton served as a corpsman at the naval submarine base in Groton, Conn. While enlisted, he managed schedules and workload for 10 corpsmen, four providers and three nurses who saw more than 300 patients weekly. Eaton ensured that those groups had the necessary equipment and instruments that were required for proper patient care. He also tracked daily schedules to maintain a patient flow that kept all appointments on time.

Eaton received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in dietetics from D’Youville.
