Morgan Madasz enters her second season as the assistant coach for the Canisius volleyball program.
In her first season on Main Street, Madasz helped lead the Golden Griffins to a 17-14 record in 2024, reaching the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) semifinals. The 2024 squad boasted nine MAAC All-Academic selections and four CSC All-District honorees.
Prior to joining Hanna's staff, Madasz served as a club volleyball coach with the NYC Juniors Volleyball Club for the 2022-23 season. She also previously coached for Top Select Volleyball Academy during the 2021-2022 season, a volleyball club based in Orlando, Fla.
Madasz is no stranger to the MAAC, playing two years at Iona. Prior to Iona, Madasz played her freshman year at North Alabama and her sophomore year at Polk State. Throughout her playing career, Madasz put up impressive figures, amassing 627 kills, 219 digs, and 155 blocks in 310 sets across 104 matches. In 2021, her sophomore year, Madasz's squad finished 9th in the nation which included a run to the National Championship. In 2023, Madasz had a career night against Manhattan, registering 27 kills which ranked second all-time in single set kills at Iona. She also earned a litany of accolades including All-Tournament Team at Belmont Classsic (2019), Suncoast All-Confernence First Team (2021), 2x MAAC All-Academic Team (2022,2023), MAAC Honor Roll (2023) and MAAC Player of the Week (2023).
A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., she earned her associate's degree in buisness management from Polk State College in 2021 and her bachelor's in media and strategic communications from Iona University in 2023. Madasz enjoys traveling and resides with her two dogs, Bart and McLaren.
