Matthew Felsenfeld joined head coach Jim Christian's coaching staff as the director of men's basketball operations in July of 2026 after spending one year as an assistant coach at Parkland College in Champaign, Ill.
At Canisius, Felsenfeld is responsible for all day-to-day operations for the University's men's basketball program. He assists with practice setup and planning, film breakdown and exchange, on and off-court player development and team travel logistics.
In 2025-26, Felsenfeld was a part of the coaching staff at Parkland College that helped lead the Cobras to a 29-7 overall record and the NJCAA Division II National Championship. Prior to joining the Parkland coaching staff, he was a three-year student manager for the men's basketball program at UNLV, where he assisted with team operations and team travel.
A native of Boulder City, Nev., Felsenfeld graduated Cum Laude from UNLV in 2025 with his degree in sports journalism. While in Las Vegas, he also spent two years serving as a team assistant for the NBA Summer League, where he assisted with team workouts, equipment and locker room setups.
