Lisa Martin

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Lisa Martin joins Canisius for her first season as an assistant coach on head coach Russell Allen’s staff. In her role, Liz specializes in goalkeeping and defense and will serve as the defensive coordinator.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Lisa to our lacrosse family” said Allen. “Lisa brings inspiring energy and an impressive level of professionalism to our staff. She dominated in the cage when playing in the NEC and knows the MAAC well having finished her playing career competing in the conference. She rounds out our coaching staff perfectly and I can't wait to see our defensive unit grow under her guidance.”

A 2025 graduate of Sacred Heart University, Martin was a four-year member on the women’s lacrosse team as a goalkeeper. Martin played in 57 games during her collegiate career, averaging 9.59 goals against and a .456 save percentage.

Prior to Canisius, Martin served as a volunteer coach at Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, Conn. where she primarily worked with the goalkeepers.

Martin earned NEC Goalkeeper of the Year and NEC All-First Team honors following the 2024 season where she held a 9.36 goals against average and a .484 save percentage.

A native of Huntington Station, N.Y., Martin earned her degree in sport management from Sacred Heart in 2025.
