Assistant coach Julien Green joined the Canisius rowing program in September 2024.
Green brings a plethora of experience to Main Street as he has been rowing out of the West Side Rowing Club since 2009.Â

In high school, racing for WSRC, Green won the New York State Championships in the Men's 4+ in 2012, and placed 11th at Youths Nationals that same year.Â

From those strong beginnings, Julien continued his rowing career at Hobart College from 2013-2017. During his time, Julien helped the Statesmen to first-place finishes at NIRC in 2016 and 2017 as well as a second-place finish in 2015. Julien also won gold at the Head of the Charlies in the Men's Collegiate 8+ in 2015 and competed at the Henley Royal Regatta in England in the summer of 2015.Â

Green competed with Vesper boat club out of Philadelphia, PA in 2015, placing second at Canadian Henley in the Under 23 Men's 8+. He continues to row and race for the West Side Rowing Club, and has coached a variety of teams for the club from 2017 - 2022.Â

When he’s not on the water, Green has a career in financial software. He also enjoys CrossFit, playing board games, video games, and binging his favorite shows.

A Buffalo native, Green graduated from Hobart with a bachelor’s degree in computer science in 2017. He resides in his hometown with his wife, Brooke, son Ronan, three dogs, Lucy, Odin, Romo and cat, Bobbi.
