Jason Morini begins his second season as head coach of the men and women's swimming and diving teams at Canisius College. Morini began overseeing both programs as the full-time head coach, on July 1, 2003.

Morini comes to Canisius from Alfred University, where he has served as an assistant coach for the men and women's teams for the last two seasons. The Saxon men won both the New York State Championships and the Empire 8 conference title in 2001-02, while the women finished third of 15 teams at the New York State Championships and placed second in the Empire 8 conference.

"Jason is a talented young coach with a lot of energy and variety of good ideas on how to elevate our women's program and renew our men's team," said Timothy J. Dillon, director of athletics. "We're excited to have him join our staff."

Morini was the head coach of the Diamond Farm Swim Team in Gaithersburg, Md., in the summer of 2002 and served as an assistant coach at Ithaca College in 2000-01. He lettered four years in swimming at Ithaca and served as a team captain during his senior season.

Morini received his undergraduate degree from Ithaca in anthropology in 1999 and earned a master's degree in community service administration from Alfred in May 2003.
