Alec Wheeler joined the Canisius athletic department staff as the assistant director for athletic facilities in November of 2024.
Wheeler joins the Canisius staff after serving as the intramurals and club sports graduate assistant at Gannon University. From 2018-20, he was the lead intern for the Niagara Power baseball team, an organization that plays in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.

A 2021 graduate of Niagara University, Wheeler earned his master’s degree in public administration at Gannon in May 2024. During his time at Niagara, Wheeler served as the student supervisor of intramurals and he also held the role of head coach for the Niagara University Overwatch E-Sports Team.
