2003: Played in all 16 games, with 12 starts... Scored one goal, the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over the University at Buffalo (9/26)... Recorded nine shots on goal... Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
2002: Led the Griffs in scoring with seven points on three goals and one assist... Played in all 16 games with 14 starts... Scored both goals, including her first collegiate goal, in the Griffs’ 2-1 win over Manhattan (10/11)... Recorded eight shots on goal... Named MAAC Rookie of the Week (10/15).
Before Canisius: The leading goal scorer at Lewiston-Porter her junior and senior seasons, Ponzi was an All-Niagara Frontier League First Team selection in 2001 and Second Team honoree in 2000... Named the Lancers' Most Valuable Player in 2001 and Most Improved Player in 2000... Selected to the Lew-Port Cup All Tournament Team in 1999, 2000 and 2001... Chosen to play in the 2001 Exceptional Seniors Game... Also captained the Lancers' basketball and track teams... Competed on 4x100 relay team that finished second at the NYS Championships.
Personal: Marissa, the daughter of Patrick and Angela Ponzi, is an athletic training and physical education major at Canisius... Sister Brittany is a junior on the soccer team at Canisius.
