Sasha Bailey is in her third season as an assistant coach of the Golden Griffin rowing program under head coach Kerri Brace.
Her second season saw Bailey help the Blue and Gold earn a pair of All-MAAC selections and eight MAAC All-Academic honorees. Working with the second varsity eight crew, Bailey was instrumental in several walk-ons developing into key members of the boat.Â
In her first season at Canisius and second with Brace, Bailey helped the Griffs finish third at the 2018 MAAC Rowing Championships.

A former collegiate rower at the University at Buffalo, Bailey joined Brace’s coaching staff for the 2017-18 season. Bailey previously worked on Brace's staff in 2016-17 when the duo led the Buffalo rowing program.
Prior to joining the Bulls’ coaching staff, Bailey spent five years with the Row New York program, where she held a variety of roles and responsibilities. She also works part time with the West Side Rowing Club, where she serves as an assistant coach.
A four-year letter-winner for the Buffalo rowing team from 2007-11, she was a three-time Dad Vail Regatta Champion and won the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association championship as well. Bailey served as team captain for the Bulls in 2011. Bailey was a member of the West Side Rowing Club Women’s program from 2004-07, where she was a 2008 US Rowing Club Nation Champion and a three-time New York State Champion.
Bailey also has experience coaching at the international level, as she coached U.S. Para-Rowing National Team member Maddy Eberhard, who placed fourth in the PR2 women's single sculls at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Austria.
Bailey earned her bachelor’s degree in health and human services from the University at Buffalo in 2011. She resides in Buffalo, N.Y.
