Jimmy Croglio enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Golden Griffin rowing program.

During his second season, Croglio has been a key teacher in the development of an outstanding nine walk-ons to the program. Working primarily with the varsity four and novice crews, Croglio has overseen the growth of several walk-ons into members of the second varsity eight boat.

In his first season with the program, Croglio helped lead the team to a third-place finish at the 2018 MAAC Rowing Championships.

Croglio joined the Canisius rowing coaching staff before the 2017-18 season after finishing a successful career with the College’s men’s club rowing team. Croglio spent four years with the men’s team as a coxswain, earning a MAAC silver medal in 2016.

Prior to joining the Canisius rowing staff, Croglio was an assistant coach with the U17 women’s team through the West Side Rowing Club. He also served as the junior varsity assistant coach at the Saint Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. At St. Joe’s, his team finished fifth at the Head of the Schuylkill, and placed second at the Novice New York State Championship in 2017.

During his undergraduate time at Canisius, Croglio was a student member of the athletic facilities operations staff, where he assisted with day-to-day operations and home event coverage. He was also the advertising director for The Griffin, Canisius’ student-run newspaper.

Croglio graduated from Canisius in May 2017 with dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and sport management. He resides in Amherst, N.Y.
