Canisius University Athletics

Sarah Royer continues as coach of the Canisius goaltenders for the second consecutive season and for the third time in the last five years. Royer returned to her alma mater for the 2007 season for her second coaching stint with the Golden Griffins. Royer also coached the goaltenders during the 2004 season.

Prior to returning to Canisius, Royer was the head varsity coach at Sweet Home High School in Amherst during the 2006 season. She spent 2005 coaching in England as the head coach for the Under-15 Gloucetershire County Team and as an assistant with the Under-19 Team.

Royer earned three letters at Canisius and one at Gannon University where she played during her freshman season. A two-time captain, Royer's best season came in 2002, when she had 125 saves and posted a 10.95 goals against average. Royer earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2002 and earned a graduate degree in physical education and health education in December 2003.
