Laura Trzybinski

Trzybinski is in her fourth season as the head coach of the men and women's swimming and diving program. Last season, Canisius set school records in 14 events, with 12 of those happening at the MAAC Championships.

Kevin O'Donnell had the best individual finish in program history with a second-place showing in the 100 breaststroke. in the season, Kaeli Abdo earned MAAC Diver of the Week honors, the first conference award for the team in the past five seasons. Nine student-athletes were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

During the 2005-06 season the Golden Griffins set school records in 12 events, including lowering the school record 10 times at the MAAC Championships. The men's team earned a school-record 220 points at the conference meet, led by a third-place finish by Kevin O'Donnell in the 100 breaststroke. The two squads combined qualified in nine events for the ECAC Championships. Six swimmers made the MAAC All-Academic team.

In her first season at Canisius, the Golden Griffins set seven school records at the MAAC Championships. Two swimmers qualified for the ECAC Championships. Five swimmers were named to the MAAC All-Academic team.

Trzybinski, a 2003 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, was a three-year letterwinner for the Bonnies and assisted in all aspects of the summer swim camp. Due to an injury in her senior season, Trzybinski gained team management experience while assisting head coach Lance Brennan. An eight-time high school All-American at Magnificat High School in Rocky River, Ohio, Trzybinski was previously the assistant swimming coach at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., and at St. Joseph's Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.

Trzybinski graduated from St. Bonaventure with a bachelor's degree in political science and is working toward a master's degree in childhood education with initial teaching licensure from Canisius. Trzybinski resides in Buffalo with her husband Mike and recently born daugther Adella.
